Thanks for a great meeting!
About the workshop - The Workshop brought together investigators employing genetic and genomic studies of traits related to the vasculature with more traditional vascular biologists in order to seed the cross-fertilization of both fields. We promoted the use of genetic and genomic approaches to the study of vascular disease, and also the transfer of the wealth of knowledge of vascular biology to the genetic/genomic studies of vascular diseases. The workshop was interdisciplinary, and allowed researchers in vascular biology and genetics/genomics to come together in a common focus to address important issues in vascular disease. The program was characterized by the presentation of cutting edge research in areas like genome wide association studies in human populations, mouse QTL mapping of vascular phenotypes, and pathogenesis of vascular and developmental diseases using human patients and mouse models.
