NAVBO Sponsors the

IXth International Vascular Biology Meeting

University of Washington

Seattle, WA Sept 4-8, 1996

Previous meetings in Europe and North America have focused on the frontiers of vascular biology. This year's meeting will continue that tradition, spanning vascular biology from basic science to new areas emerging as we apply vascular biology to clinical trials. A preliminary list of topics is listed below.

Signalling mechanisms
Molecular Genetics of atherosclerosis
Eukocyte-endothelial interactions
Unstable plaque
Cell matrix interactions
Angiogenesis
Kringle factors
Molecular genetics of high blood pressure
Restenosis
Mediators of endothelial/smooth muscle interactions
Clinical impact of vascular biology
Molecular biology of smooth muscle contraction
Vasoregulation
Molecular basis of vascular lineages
Vascular remodeling

This meeting will be co-sponsored by the vascular biology organizations of Europe, Japan and Australia. The format will be similar to a Gordon conference, that is, the organizers intend to offer ample time for discussion.

The organizers also hope that visitors will take this opportunity to visit Seattle and its sister city in Canada, Vancouver. This region of North America is particularly beautiful, with many opportunities to visit national parks, explore the islands in the inland waters, visit the Indian peoples, or explore the restaurants and museums of these two beautiful cities.
